“Good design comes with emotional intelligence, understanding people
and the human experience.”

I founded Hoffman Creative ten years ago in New York, born out of a passion for people, brands and design. I am driven by their alchemy; how they can come together to create something more powerful than the sum of their parts.

I studied Global Ecology and Fine Art at Bard College, but my real education came subsequently from two periods of my professional life: volunteering for the Peace Corps at a zoo for endangered animals in Belize and then as Art Director for fashion photographer Steven Meisel.

The Peace Corps taught me the importance of humanity and organisation in effective communication. From Steven, I experienced the power of imagery and the magic of storytelling. Together these lessons have shaped my fundamental values and beliefs about the optimistic potential of design.

I believe that design is profoundly linked to psychology. Good design comes with emotional intelligence, understanding people and the human experience. I have a hands on approach to my work. I am present. Good design needs thought, attention and dedication from all involved. We go through a process together. The confidence to change comes from mutual trust. It requires vision and faith. We do our best work with clients who value the integrity of our relationships.
